Why do we need to accept ourself? What happens when we accept ourself?
To understand ourselves better, to love ourselves, to be true to ourselves, to build a healthy relationship with ourselves. It is important to accept ourselves the way we are. To stop being what others wants us to be. To stop impressing others and trying to fit in the crowd. To start learning the self-love process, acceptance of oneself is a must.
We always try to mold ourselves into someone who will be accepted by people and society and everyone around us. We always try to be someone so that we belong to a certain group and there, we have found our place. But then there always comes a point in our life where we realize that this is not who we are, this is not who I want to be, this is not where I belong.
There are some people who have this notion about themselves that they can never go wrong, they can never hurt someone, they can never let down someone, they are a perfect person. I am sorry to say you are not! None of us are perfect. We all will hurt someone in our life, we all will let down not only others but ourselves too, we all will somewhere at some point do some mistakes or something that we never even dreamt of ever in our life. But does that make us a bad person? No! it does not. It just means we all are human, we all do mistakes, we all will fall what important is we learn.
I now see how owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.
Lately, I have realized I am a flawed human, I do a lot of mistakes, but that does not mean I am a bad person. It just means I am a human, and if I make mistakes I also am trying to learn from them. I am trying to accept myself that I am not perfect and to be honest, I don’t wish to be perfect anymore.
Through accepting that this is what I am, I am flawed I am also trying to figure out where do I lack, what is it I need to work on? and what are the things I can’t simply
Change is possible, but it must start with self-acceptance.
Self- acceptance is the first step towards self-love. Accepting the way you are and accepting that this is how it is going to be and to love every bit of it and accept it with open arms is what leads to the first step towards a healthy mental life.
But accepting ourselves also does not mean that you should not work towards improving yourself. When one realizes where is that one needs to work, we can always try to work on our flaws, we can always try to bring improvements in us for our own good. There will be some flaws that will never change i.e our looks. We cannot change the way we look, but we can always change the way we look at ourselves as well as everything and everyone that surround us.
Life is all about the journey, the journey about learning. They say, life is the best teacher. But I also believe, one cannot learn without mistakes, so to learn and to know the deep secrets of life we need to do some mistakes, we need to make some bad decisions, we need to fail. Only then can we learn from them. Mistakes are what gives us the true and deep lessons in life.
Accept everything about yourself I mean everything, You are you and that is the beginning and the end no apologies, no regrets.

And so one must accept that we all will make mistakes and we all are imperfect and flawed humans! Accept yourself, love yourself, and set yourself free. Be yourself, the true you! and never feel sorry for being you.
